"The ""EU Youth Dialogue 2022-2024 - Cy"" project proposal forms part of the EU Youth Dialogue 2022 - 2024 and is designed based on the needs of Cyprus. Falling within the work of the Cyprus Youth Council as the coordinator of the Cypriot National Working Group (NWG) on the EU Youth Dialogue with young people and youth organisations, this action plan that was jointly prepared and agreed by the NWG partners, aims at the implementation of the process in Cyprus (for the period 01/01/2022 -31/12/2024) with special emphasis on the increased participation of youth from all cultural backgrounds and geographical regions of the island. The project aims to engage young people into the active participation in the democratic life always while ensuring and promoting equal gender participation and including diverse voices of all young people in the decision making and policy-shaping mechanisms, make the connection of young people across the divide stronger in the case of Cyprus but also within and across Europe, empower young people in order to use EU Youth Dialogue as an initiative for their own development, on a personal and professional level, bring real change in youth policy firstly on a local and national level and then on a European level, strengthen young people’s citizenship competencies and sense of belonging to society and the EU, engage young people and policy and decision makers in meaningful cooperation and discussions both on a national and an EU level in order to further support the process of forming better informed and well designed youth policies. The project aims to reach around 15,000 - 20,000 young people around the island both directly and indirectly through offline and online events and it aims to bring groundbreaking change in the way youth policies are shaped in the context of Cyprus. Moreover, the project will bring young people and policy-makers into direct contact and discussion in order to further promote the importance of the role of the EUYD."
