European Union of the Deaf (EUD) is the only organisation at the EU level which promotes the EU values and advocates for deaf citizens’ equality, non-discrimination, engagement, and full and meaningful implementation of human rights at the EU level in a fully accessible way for the deaf persons in Europe. EUD will use this funding to conduct activities that feed into EU policy making, among other they will include conducting policy analyses, reports, advocacy letters, policy recommendations, toolkits, and other policy outputs. EUD will also undertake capacity building and mutual learning activities that will build bridges between the EU level and national level organisations (National Associations of the Deaf) and strengthen their capacity to actively contribute to the implementation of the EU level initiatives, policies, and legislation on the national level. Moreover, EUD will organise trainings, workshops, seminars, and webinars to build the capacity of the National Associations of the Deaf and inform about EU level policies, legislation, and initiatives so they can actively engage when implementing them on a national level. EUD will also undertake communication and dissemination as well as awareness raising activities which will aim at raising awareness and disseminating information on the rights of deaf persons and the EU level legislation, policies, and initiatives in a fully accessible way for deaf people – International Sign and English. All these activities will aim at ensuring full and meaningful implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the EU Disability Rights Strategy 2021-2030, the European Pillar of Social Rights and other EU level policies, legislation, strategies, and initiatives that aim at protecting and promoting the rights of deaf people in the EU.
