One of the ultimate goals of the Rhine-Meuse Project (EURIEC) is to make administrative authorities in Belgium, North-Rhine Westfalia (Germany) and the Netherlands, aware of their role in combating organised crime. For this purpose it is necessary that the administrative authorities are well informed. We are talking about administrative information (information from one administrative authority to the other), police-, justice- and tax information. The project will look into the legal possibilities and regulations in the three countries (BE, DE (NRW), NL), in what way they are equal to each other and in what way they differ (short/medium term). Through a case based approach the EURIEC will make clear where it is possible to share information for administrative purposes across the borders and where it is necessary to adjust laws and regulations. One of the main tasks is to inform the administrative authorities about their possibilities to act in an administrative approach to organised crime, to make them aware of their role. The EURIEC will provide the administrative authorities with information. An other important task of the EURIEC will be to elaborate cross-border cases of administrative approach to learn the actual possibilities of international information exchange for administrative purposes During the two years of the project Rhine Meuse only the short and medium term beneficiaries are the goals. Long term beneficiaries such as an Euregional barrier model and advise to optimise legislation will be investigated in a next project. Only then legislation procedures can be triggered. In all talks, correspondence and other documents the EU funding will be mentioned. The EU logo will be used. Audiences and readers will be informed that the EURIEC project is made possible with funding form the EU/EC
