"""The establishment of a network of high quality and secured videoconference infrastructure within the EURLO network, aims at creating reduction of cost, time and security problems linked to the identification of irregular residing migrants. The use of the videoconference tools is foreseen for : - Identification interviews for irregular residing (detained) migrants; - Asylum interviews for migrants (who apply in detention or remote locations); - Operational consultations between partners (national / European level) in return operations As beneficiary effects are expected : - Decreases the cost of detention centers for an extended period of time; - Decreases the cost of transportation between detention centers and embassies; - Enables interviews by consular representations on remote locations; - Provides an ecological alternative for the transportation of detained persons; - Reduces the risk to the public by keeping the detainees at the detention center; - Provides a solution for embassies refusing to visit prisoners in prison; - Reduces the unpleasant consequences for migrants, embassy staff / visitors owhen organising interviews at the embassy; - Reduces the unpleasant consequences and less agitation for the migrants; - Provides an alternative for identification missions from third countries to European countries; - Videoconferencing in identification procedures should evolve to an essential component in day-to-day operations for identification procedures.
