Description
Description | Euro Handball Caravan is a platform for professional and personal development through knowledge transfer and best practice exchange across three countries: Serbia, Germany, and France. The project aims to strengthen and expand the grassroots sports foundation in Europe by building the capacity of sports professionals - handball coaches, staff, and management, through peer-to-peer education, in order to develop coaching methodologies, engage children and youth in sports, raise organisations’ capacities for obtaining different sources of support, while enhancing international cooperation. Bringing together three partners a handball non-profit organisation and two handball clubs, one of which is exclusively female, the project also aims to restore handball as a leading European sport by promoting integrity, respect, fair play, and exemplary off-court behaviour. The project strives to: 1) raise the capacities of 24 sports professionals through peer-to-peer education at study visits and info days. 2) Provide opportunities for applying acquired knowledge in practice with mentorship, engaging children and young people in grassroots sport through the Handball Caravan and a sports camp, involving 4,000 young participants. 3) Promote the importance of sport for all and education in and through sport, highlighting its role in fostering healthy physical and social upbringing among 1,000,000 people. Key activities include: • Study visits to Germany and France of sports professionals. • Info Day for handball coaches and peer workshops for further knowledge transfer. • Handball Caravan in 8 primary schools, reaching children aged 8-12 years through over 90 physical education classes. • Wing-to-Wing Friendship Camp for young male and female handball players from the three participating countries. Special focus is on the integration of DEI principles, ensuring engagement of both boys and girls, male and female coaches, and children with special needs. |
