In current changing world higher education should equip students with competencies needed to successfully enter labour market and further develop their careers, as well as to contribute to the development of Europe with their creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The Council Recommendations (20 November 2017) on tracking graduates pointed out that “good quality information about what graduates do after obtaining their qualification or leaving education and training is essential” for the Member States to “to promote productivity and employability through an appropriate supply of relevant knowledge, skills and competences”. The aim of developing graduate tracking system has been clearly stated in different policy documents in Croatia. In the past decade several ad-hoc surveys have been conducted at the national level by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Agency for Science and Education with the aim to explore the possibilities for development of the national graduate tracking system. Croatia participated in the first Eurograduate pilot project (2018-2019) which proved to very useful and motivating for further developments at the national level. Therefore, the ministry has decided to join EUROGRADUATE Survey 2022 and continue to develop the preconditions for monitoring graduates at national level in line with trends and policies being developed within EUropean Union.
