Description
Description | The EuroLab Actions Jean Monnet project enhances pupils' understanding of European issues by promoting cultural awareness, civic involvement, and professional integration. Based in a vocational secondary school in Lille, it welcomes a diverse student body, including young allophones from around the world, fostering a multicultural environment. The school prioritizes inclusion and equality, integrating gender perspectives into its projects. Since 2021, EuroLab has strengthened partnerships with the Délégation académique aux relations européennes et internationales and the University of Lille's Master in European Affairs. It extends these collaborations through parliamentary simulations, allowing pupils to experience European decision-making interactively. The project emphasizes cultural and linguistic diversity. A European gastronomy workshop explores culinary traditions while aiding allophone pupils’ integration. eTwinning exchanges provide linguistic and cultural immersion, promoting language learning and cross-border understanding. EuroLab also raises awareness of EU economic and institutional mechanisms. A mini-company project introduces pupils to the single market and entrepreneurship. A visit to the European Parliament and meetings with civil servants expand career horizons. Creative engagement is another pillar. A travel log in comic strip form lets pupils explore European diversity artistically. Participation in a European film festival jury sharpens their critical thinking through diverse cinematic perspectives. Finally, EuroLab addresses environmental challenges and mobility. A comparative study of waste management raises ecological awareness, while a trip to Dublin on local trade and podcast production strengthens linguistic and professional skills. By combining these initiatives, EuroLab offers a rich educational experience, fostering autonomy, initiative, and a deeper understanding of European realities, preparing students for an interconnected world. |
