Description

Description

EUROPA A ESCENA is a project which aims to create a school course about the EU. This would be offered as an optional subject to students in their 3rd and 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education. This elective course would consist of two modules: On the one hand, there would be a theoretical part in which contents would be distributed in three blocks: Block I: History, symbols, values, achievements and objectives of the EU. Block II. European Institutions and how they function. Block III. The European Union in our daily lives and its role in the world. On the other hand, there would be a practical module in which, by using the tools offered by the performing arts, our students would become the main target in their own learning process. Therefore, by means of creativity and motivation, our pupils would develop strategies to build up their own knowledge, to experience European citizenship and to develop an active commitment towards the values and objectives of Europeanism. To this end, the following activities are proposed: • Conducting European Parliament simulations and participating in competitions that are organized by different territorial levels. • Preparing audiovisual materials about the theoretical contents previously studied. • Creating a theatre play to involve the community and transcend the academic sphere by presenting it in different competitions and contests. • Exchanging these educational experiences with schools belonging to the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme (EPAS).
