Europasinfonie is a pioneering pan-European initiative that transforms how music is collaboratively created, rehearsed, and performed across borders. By combining artistic excellence with cutting-edge digital technology, ecological responsibility, and social inclusion, the project establishes a scalable model for transnational cooperation in the cultural sector. At its core, Europasinfonie develops a real-time transmission infrastructure enabling geographically dispersed musicians to rehearse and perform together—without travel, and with minimal latency. Building on this, low-latency transmission studios will be installed at leading European conservatories, offering students free access to innovative rehearsal and performance formats. Specialised courses will empower a new generation of composers and performers to creatively engage with hybrid and distributed ensemble settings. As the project’s highlight 12 orchestras and 2 choirs will showcase both technical and artistic achievements in a transcontinental semi-virtual performance. Conductor Andrea Molino will first introduce the participating ensembles and technology used. Following this introduction, audiences will experience three world premieres of compositions selected through a Europe-wide competition. The event stands as a powerful symbol of European unity, innovation, and cultural resilience. Europasinfonie strongly aligns with EU priorities: it contributes to the Digital Decade and Creative Europe’s innovation goals, supports Green Deal objectives by reducing emissions through digital-first production, and embeds inclusion through accessible formats, gender-equal leadership, and representation of underrepresented communities. It also strengthens international cultural relations through cooperation with a Ukrainian NGO and a Europe-wide network of artistic partners.
