Europass is an initiative, established by the European Union, which aims to help people make their skills and qualifications clearly and easily understood in Europe, thus facilitating the mobility of both learners and workers. Europass is a comprehensive service for users to manage both their learning and professional career throughout life (not only at a specific moment). It provides a free and open framework of freely accessible digital tools for citizens to seek new educational, job and training opportunities. It also provides information and support on users' skills and qualifications. Europass digital tools have been designed in such a way as to help people chronicle their skills and competences in a coherent manner, whether they are planning to enroll in an education or training programme, looking for a job, or getting experience abroad. These are Europass main digital tools: - Europass Profile. - Europass Curriculum Vitae. - Europass Cover letter. - Europass Personal Library. - Europass self-evaluator of skills, competences and interests. Apart from the previous tools, Europass consists of three documents issued by Spanish Education and Training Authorities: - Europass Certificate Supplement. - Europass Diploma Supplement. - Europass Mobility Document. Europass objectives are: - To provide digital tools to facilitate the employability of users. - To record the capabilities, competencies, interests and experiences of users throughout life. - To help citizens communicate their skills and qualifications effectively when looking for a job or training. - To facilitate academic and professional mobility. - To strengthen the link between training and the world of work. - To promote transparency of qualifications and competences. - To help employers understand the skills and qualifications of the workforce. - To help education and training authorities define and communicate the content of curricula.
