Description | In Europe, 17 power purchase agreements (PPAs) covering a total of 966 MW of capacity were publicly announced in April, according to the monthly brief of advisory Pexapark. The largest among these was a 10-year hydropower deal between Hydro Energi and Statkraft for 326 MW. There was also a 161 MW cross-border virtual PPA in Lithuania tied to the Skuodas onshore wind project. Additionally, two hybrid PPAs for solar and battery storage were announced, including a 150-MW virtual deal between Endesa and Sonnedix covering solar and battery storage assets across Spain and Portugal. Battery storage contracting activity was steady with nine battery energy storage system (BESS)-related agreements announced for a total of 800 MW/2.8 GWh. |
