Description

Description

The Jean Monnet programme, for our MFR, is an educational journey to the heart of Europe, aiming at developing a sense of European identity and active citizenship among students and teachers. Students will first explore the history of European construction through a quiz on its key milestones, followed by visits to the House of European History in Strasbourg and the Jean Monnet House in Bazoches sur Guyonne, where they will return their discoveries through creative work and an exhibition. The programme also includes a tour of the European institutions, with visits to the European Parliament in Strasbourg and the Parlamentarium in Brussels, allowing students to better understand how they work. Exchanges with MEPs and citizen debates will enrich their learning, while games and quizzes on geography will help them situate the different territories of Europe. Openness to other cultures will be encouraged by the appointment of ambassadors for each European country and the celebration of thematic days, such as Language Day and Europe Day, creating a true cultural hub. This will be reinforced by events conducted with our twinning committee, as our municipality is twinned with a city in Portugal. Finally, innovative digital tools will allow students to explore the customs and traditions of European countries through interactive experiences, including a visit to Europa Experience in Paris. In short, the Jean Monnet programme will be a real springboard for our MFR to better understand the European Union and its values, while cultivating curiosity and openness towards the world.
