European citizenship – as we see it

We would like to present two main ideas together with our partners in the application. One of them is the following: - the citizen as an active, having the ability to apply judgement and conscious element of the European Union - the diversity of culture and languages, which is unique in the world. The first topic will be brought closer to the participants by the 2024 elections - the next EP elections will be in that year, which will generally produce low participation in the countries that joined later. Besides that, there will be two other regional and national elections in the Czech Republic, in which it is also extremely important that a large number of eligible voters participate. The other topic are the cultural programs which will be in the focus, by the cooperation of the different teams, the description of our traditions. We provide an opportunity for participants to get to know each other better and create personal nexus during the joint program that won’t pass away even after the event either. Friendships and personal acquaintances contribute to bringing the different nations of Europe closer together, which has a beneficial effect on tolerance and openness. These elementary relationships weave the network that holds each group together tighter, so that changes at the individual level also affect larger social units. In this way, we can make a positive impact in terms of integration and commitment to the EU by the project. The citizen is at the heart of the event - the values he or she carries and had created in the past, as well as the opportunities by which he or she can bring changes in the future. We will take a closer look at this citizenship in this competition, which involves seven organizations from six countries and is therefore entitled 'European citizenship - as we see it'.
