The EURECA Plus project will further develop the capacities of ECAS and its members to promote EU citizenship rights and will empower citizens to contribute to the implementation of the European Democracy Action Plan, the ‘Defence of Democracy Package’, the EU Citizenship Report 2020, the Reinforcing Democracy and Integrity of Elections Package, the EU Citizenship Package and the Digital Compass for the EU's digital decade. EURECA Plus will strengthen European citizenship and identity through support for the freedom of movement in the EU and to the EU mobile citizens’ rights, with a special emphasis on their voting rights in the host countries. This will be achieved through capacity building of rights advice organisations and public authorities in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Romania, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, focus groups on voting rights in Netherlands, Bulgaria, Slovakia and a training on telework in Luxembourg, Belgium, France. The EURECA Plus European Democracy activities will contribute to developing mechanisms to increase citizens' democratic participation based on EU values. This impact will be achieved through capacity building of CSOs in CEE on how to counter disinformation and support to their cross-border campaigns in Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Croatia; civic monitoring of the implementation of the national digital roadmaps in all Member States by the end of 2028 to ensure that no one is left behind and setting up a Coalition for Techno-Democracy with diverse stakeholders to collaborate on a vision for the future of Europe with technological benefits for citizens at its core. ECAS will re-grant to its members in the EU to increase their capacity to develop coherent and coordinated activities in the areas of countering disinformation and ensuring a citizen-centric digital transformation. Through the EURECA Plus events and campaigns, ECAS will raise awareness of more than 150000 EU citizens on their EU rights.
