Description
Description | The general objective of this project is focused on developing a series of debates and exchange of ideas and points of view on the role of the EU citizens in promoting rural (cultural and environmental) heritage. Specifically, this project will address the field of Sustainable Development in Rural Areas of the European Union (Rural-EU). According to the areas of the present call, this project’s idea is intended to contribute to citizens' understanding of the EU, its history, culture and diversity, and to foster European citizenship by improving conditions for civic and democratic participation at European Union level from a local and rural perspective. One of the main needs addressed by Rural-EU is the need to report on the intrinsic relationship between sustainable development and rural heritage within the framework that the European Union operates nowadays. Since sustainable development seeks the well-being of future generations, it is necessary to analyse, inform and publicize the importance of the instruments that can allow the establishment of sustainable development in rural areas such as the 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal. At this point this project, designed in a collaborative way by the City Council of Pego (Spain) and Casola (Italy) is presented as a key to publicize the local innovation activities that are being developed by the regions located in rural areas. Both municipalities will organize a workshop in Pego (Spain). More than 120 Spanish and Italian citizens will participate in this event. |
