Description
Description | The JM Module INTEGRATE brings together several European Universities in the effort to offer tailor-made virtual mobility and multidisciplinary teaching to Bachelor students across Europe. INTEGRATE focuses on two key components to understand the European Union and Europe more generally: 'European Cultures and societies' in the 19th, 20th and 21st century as well as 'European Integration' post-1945. INTEGRATE unites two multidisciplinary, hybrid and commonly-taught courses – European Cultures and Societies taught in the first semester of the first year and European Integration taught in the first semester of the second year, which are the foundation that the rest of the program builds upon. The courses are taught by KU Leuven, Jagiellonian University in Kraków and Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, with the support of professors from other Una Europa partner universities. INTEGRATE offers a one-of-a-kind Winter School for all students which is organized at the end of the winter semester in Brussels and provides for additional short-term and blended mobility. Organized by KU Leuven, the Winter School engages experts from all 8 participating universities and stimulates the students to develop their problem-solving skills by focusing on various challenges of European integration. Evidently, the international nature of INTEGRATE makes it a truly European experience for everyone involved, brings students from whole Europe together and creates stronger cooperation between universities. The Bachelor program is also accessible for students from outside of the European Union with the important effect it enhances EU’s public diplomacy and allows those interested in the EU to become experts and bring their knowledge to the labour market where they would engage with different levels of policy-making, local, state and international actors, civil society representatives, academia and the media. |
