Description
Description | This participatory inclusion project (ECT) will unite four distinct European cultures in a collaborative process to promote awareness of the richness, the culture and language that encompasses the EU. This intergenerational programme will be an inclusive co-production focusing on traditional Arts, Drama, Language, and skills. Delivered against the backdrop of the four Castles integral to the participating communities of Malbork, Poland, Margny- les- Compiegne, France Sighisoara, Romania and Kilkenny, Ireland., the project will promote social cohesion in an intercultural context. We will achieve this through collaborative celebration of culture to include: workshops, direct engagement, performances, arts, drama and an international parade. This will build friendships, encourage integration and promote tourism. Focused and Person-centred, the transdisciplinary activities will encourage close interactions and respect for the diversity to be found in European Cultures. The initiative will counter disinformation and strengthen media freedom in line with the European Democracy Action Plan 2020. These European policies underpin the protection and promotion of the unique characteristics found in the culture and language of our diverse communities. In keeping with the ethos of the Twilight community group the programme will create a visible awareness of the LGBTI+ community, Ethnic minorities, Traveller, and Roma groupings, encompassing people experiencing socio- economic disadvantage. This programme will tackle the intersectional gender gap that persists in almost all cultural and creative sectors where many individuals experience discrimination based on their gender identities. (Culture Action Europe 2021). The delivery of the collaborative project recognises Article 21 (Non-Discrimination), Article 22 (Cultural, Religious & Linguistic Diversity) & Article 23 (Equality between Genders) Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union 2012. |
