Description
Description | The European Digital Innovation Hub EDIH Adria 2.0 (EDIH Adria 2.0), building on the best practices and leading outcomes from EDIH Adria 1.0, is established with a clear strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI) as the primary enabler of digital transformation in the Republic of Croatia. The consortium brings together advanced expertise, infrastructure, and a strong track record in AI development and deployment across key sectors. These capabilities are further reinforced by high-performance computing (HPC), which supports large-scale AI applications, complex data analytics, and simulations. The consortium is a user-centric partnership composed of STEP RI, Croatia’s leading innovation support institution; the University of Rijeka and the University of Pula, both with strong research capacities in AI; Ericsson Nikola Tesla, a global technology leader; Velebit AI, a specialised AI-focused SME; and RDA PORIN, a technology and innovation incubator with expertise in smart cities and entrepreneurship. EDIH Adria 2.0 aims to drive digital transformation and innovation with a strong emphasis on AI-based solutions, supported by HPC where appropriate, across three strategic sectors: health and quality of life (including health tourism), transport and mobility (with a particular focus on the maritime sector), and energy and sustainable development. Services offered will include technology testing prior to investment, advanced skills development and AI training, access to finance support, and networking opportunities at both national and European levels. By actively engaging with other EDIHs and aligning with European AI and HPC infrastructures, EDIH Adria 2.0 will position itself as a key node within the European AI innovation ecosystem. It will foster a collaborative environment where businesses, academia, the public sector, and financial actors jointly advance digital transformation, enhance competitiveness, and contribute to sustainable economic growth. |
