Description | "This proposal outlines the strategy for the second phase (2026-2029) of the European Digital Innovation Hub Northern Netherlands (EDIH NN), building on the foundation of the first phase (2022-2025). Over the last years, EDIH NN transitioned from setup to active execution, overcoming early delays related to consortium restructuring. Key achievements include the development of a regional ecosystem for Au-tonomous Systems, featuring a ""Front-runners group"" of 30 engaged SMEs, and the establishment of a National Knowledge Centre for Autonomous Systems (""INFINITECH""). The main objective of the second phase EDIH NN is to strengthen the digital transformation capacity of the Northern Netherlands by deploying AI and Autonomous Systems tailored to regional needs in four application areas: Smart Agro, Smart Factory, Life Sciences & Health and Physical Environment. The subsidiary objectives of the project are: 1. To act as a regional access point in the European Network of EDIH’s by building strong partner-ships with AI Hub Northern Netherlands, Cyber Security Northern Netherlands, national EDIH’s, complementary EDIHs in the EU, EEN NL and Start-up Europe partners in exchanging knowledge, expertise, services and best practices. 2. Accelerating the deployment of AI driven Autonomous Systems in local companies and public ac-tors 3. Update roadmaps to expand position the Northern Netherlands as frontrunner on Autonomous Systems in four key application areas The NOM is the coordinator of EDIH NN and the other beneficiaries are: University of Groningen, Hanze University of applied sciences, NHL Stenden University of Applied Science, FME (employers' organization for the technology industry) and first-in-line support organisations: Innovation Pact Fryslan, Eco-nomic Board Groningen and IBDO. EDIH NN will actively collaborate with the other Dutch EDIHs s act as a regional access point within the European EDIH network to exchange knowledge and best practices." |
