Description

European Education Systems and Policies (EESaP) is a learning module delivered as a part of the Master of Education program at the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne. The learning module is an integral part of the subject titled: Disciplined Inquiry Capstone (Travel) (EDUC91353) which is a mandatory subject completed by the Master of Education course offered at the Faculty of Education, at the University of Melbourne. The EESaP module's objective is to offer a comprehensive overview of the EU, investigating innovations, advancements and challenges in educational policy and practice in the EU through a study tour 2-week visitation program. Students will examine education policy and policy reform issues in the context of EU policy development, implementation and evaluation. It will provide students with the opportunity to engage with European education policy issues through a structured visitation program, which will include briefings, workshops and seminars at selected government, non-government and educational organisations in Europe. The study tour will visit relevant EU institutions in Brussels and least two EU member states over a 2-week period, visiting government, non-government and educational organisations, schools, training colleges and universities. Students will develop conference presentations related to the EU and European education systems as well as publications for academic journals on European studies.
