Description

Description

To engage young audiences in Europe, the European Film Academy is developing the European Film Club, a digital platform that makes European films accessible to and is co-created by young audiences. The European Film Club builds on the success of the Young Audience Award and gives young audiences year-round access to interesting European films with a much expanded catalogue and adding to largely independent contemporary releases that feature in the Young Audience Award. A pan-European approach and close collaboration with existing initiatives and many partners is at the core of this project. Youth Council members will be the ambassadors of the European Film Club promoting membership across Europe and building a sense of excitement and ownership amongst young audiences. In 2023 we will: • Recruit 200 film clubs with 20% of film clubs from disadvantaged countries or diverse communities and • Recruit 2,400 film club members with 10% from a diverse background • continue the Beta Test and evaluate the implications and learnings for roll out • Prepare the digital platforms and infrastructure for roll out from Autumn 2023 (in next phase of funding) The European Film Academy and EFA Productions are closely affiliated companies. EFA Productions is a 100% subsidiary of the Academy. It is the in-house production company responsible for the production of Academy projects. The duration of the project is from April 1, 2021 to September, 2023
