Description

Description

"Belga Films is a 100% Belgian independent distribution company, one of the leading independent distributors in the Benelux. The objectives of this proposal are the support for the acquisition, the distribution and the promotion of non-national European films in the territories of Belgium and in Luxembourg. Thanks to the MEDIA Program, Belga Films will be able to invest in various non-national films, i.e. French, Italian, Dutch films, which is essential to ensure the enhancement and the promotion of cultural cooperation within the European market. Concretely, the MEDIA grant will help Belga Films to finance the acquisition of distribution rights (""Minimum Guarantees"") and/or the promotion, marketing and advertising for theatrical or online releases in the Belgian and Luxembourg cinematographic markets of such non-national European films. The Belgian and Luxembourg audiences are the final beneficiaries. Of course, we hope that box-office results will be good, and we will work hard to encourage the public to find their way back to theatres. Therefore, we are more than ever attentive to i) select the most qualitative and appropriate cinematographic works through activitation participation in European film markets and ii) adapt the marketing and release plans to best target the concerned audience for each film. We expecte to reinvest the MEDIA grant into three (3) to five (5) films (either in rights acquisitions or P&A expenses)."
