"The European Hybrid Intelligence Network (EHIN) project explores bio-computation as a sustainable alternative to silicon-based technologies, addressing climate emergencies through transdisciplinary collaboration. Inspired by plants and organisms as natural ""green computers,"" EHIN bridges art, science, and field practice to foster ecological awareness and post-anthropocentric epistemologies. By uniting artists, scientists, and local practitioners (e.g., farmers, foresters), the project investigates interspecies communication and symbiotic relationships within ecosystems, moving beyond monoculture-focused research. EHIN establishes Dirty Labs—flexible, critical infrastructures for artistic residencies—where sensor technologies, machine learning, and traditional knowledge converge to decode bio-electrical signals and biocomputational processes. Six co-produced artworks will emerge from these labs, exhibited in solo and group shows, alongside educational programs promoting green transition. The consortium of six European organizations (Germany, Spain, Serbia, Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia) prioritizes inclusivity, gender equality, and minority engagement. Outcomes include 12 Open Dirty Labs, a symposium, a book, and 12 blog posts, fostering long-term networks for bio-computation research in art. EHIN aligns with EU Green Deal and UN SDGs, offering visionary, energy-neutral alternatives to high-tech industries while redefining human-non-human coexistence."
