Description

Description

European Martial Art Connected Games European project promoting sport, mobility and education through the organisation of multi-activity martial arts tournaments. Issue Current single-activity, martial arts tournaments do not promote learning, enjoyment and team spirit. They are contrary to the recommendations of the sports development model. Entry fees are prohibitive (€30 for sometimes 1 three-minute fight). There is a lack of cooperation and collaboration between disciplines, clubs and martial arts coaches Few resources are available for practitioners who are often from immigrant and less privileged backgrounds. The use of new technologies and mobility is low. Methodology Our consortium of 4 clubs (from Greece, Spain, France and Belgium) will organise multi-game tournaments per team based on different aspects of martial arts and new technologies: techniques, fighting, skill, agility, ... Digital tools such as electronic targets will be used in the challenges. Initiations will be organised for the general public. Mobility 5 athletes who participated in the games organised by the clubs will be invited to a federative event organised in Brussels. At least 55 athletes will travel during the year. We will take advantage of the meetings to organise in-depth exchanges between coaches in the form of workshops, seminars, etc. Educational sheets on the organisation of tournaments will be put online to encourage the organisation of new games. We will take the example of the world athletics federation, which communicates Kid's Athletics educational tools for the organisation of multi-activity tournaments. We are targeting 3 main audiences: citizens, martial arts practitioners and coaches. Number of direct beneficiaries of the project: 200 coaches and 2000 athletes. Exploitation and continuation of the project after the financing: the objective will be to carry out games each year in a maximum of clubs and to carry out an event at European level.
