Description
Description | Edge Intelligence is a key asset to address the sustainability and digital sovereignty needs of Europe, with a huge economic impact. Perceptive intelligent nanosystems are required at the foundation of future visions to provide the necessary ubiquitous “sensing” and the “sense-making” functions which constitute the interface of digitalised systems with humans and with the real world. The proposed MSc degree “Embedded Intelligence Nanosystems Engineering” (EMINENT) is a joint programme that prepares future talents to transgress classical disciplinary borders and make full use of embedded intelligence components and systems. The programme offers advanced training from the nanoscale fabrication of devices and materials, including advanced sensoric and machine- learning components, up to macroscale intelligent systems and IoT interconnected devices in the information, sensing and energy application areas. The unique EMINENT consortium provides an interdisciplinary curriculum, encompassing state-of-the-art technologies, functional materials for future sensor and embedded data processing devices, discusses energy and sensing applications as essential infrastructure solutions, and explores AI architectural designs that make internet-of-things devices faster, more efficient, more printable, more wearable, greener, more intelligent, more reliable and more accessible for the creation of the mass-market products. The MSc focuses on information, energy and sensing applications, showing how different types of functional materials deposited onto flexible & rigid substrates are used to create new generations of products that harness the capabilities of intelligent sensoric and wireless-interconnected technologies in an eco-efficient, reliable and privacy conserving way. The MSc bridges across the classical divide between engineering, physics and computer science disciplines, inspiring future talents along the complete value chain of future Edge Intelligence systems. |
