Description
Description | "The project "" European Migrant Women's Platform: Political and Democratic School"" aims to strengthen the civic and political participation of migrant women in Europe. Considering their underrepresentation in decision-making spaces, this project offers an empowerment model based on training, the exchange of good practices, advocacy and networking. Developed by the Collectif des Femmes (Belgium) and ESCODE (Spain), this project continues the work initiated by EWM-Participation and aims to create a sustainable cooperation platform to support the civic engagement of migrant women. The goal is to facilitate their inclusion in democratic processes and enhance their capacity to influence political decisions that affect them. In Spain, the first activity of the project will be a convivial international meeting in a rural setting, aimed at highlighting the experience of the Red Latinas Political School, initiating the creation of the European platform, and strengthening the connections between engaged actors. Subsequently, decentralized regional trainings will take place in Andalusia, Galicia, and Madrid, covering topics such as human rights, migration policies, European governance, and political communication. In Belgium, activities such as a participatory training on the rights and duties of European citizens, two educational visits to European institutions (Brussels and Luxembourg), a workshop on leadership and access to politics and an international conference on inclusive democracy and collective mobilization will complement the actions carried out in Spain. This project addresses priority 3 of the CERV-2025-CITIZENS-CIV call, promoting the inclusion of underrepresented groups in democratic processes. It relies on a participatory, intercultural, and intersectional approach, aiming to equip migrant women with the necessary tools to make their voices heard in the European public space." |
