Description

Description

SCEPTER project seeks to combine radar, electronic warfare, and communication functions with adaptive cognitive features, enhancing situational awareness across air, land, and sea domains. It plans to create modular and interoperable systems, establishing standardized hardware and software to boost operational flexibility while minimizing electromagnetic spectrum consumption. The design will integrate advanced AESA antennas and Gallium Nitride technology to meet strict requirements for size, weight, and power in airborne platforms. Additionally, the program will tackle challenges in thermal management and signal integrity to ensure dependable performance across different environments. The project will follow two parallel strategies: - Developing essential components within Europe to secure technological autonomy and avoid dependency on foreign suppliers. This approach strengthens sovereignty by retaining control over critical subsystems for future modifications and upgrades. - Adopting commercially available solutions where applicable to speed up development timelines and reduce costs. By combining internal innovation with off-the-shelf technologies, the project supports both self-sufficiency and efficiency in advancing Europe’s defense capabilities.
