European Pact for Integration

The European Pact for Integration project (EPI) aims to get out of an emergency logic to upgrade quality of existing pro-migrants inclusion local strategies. It does so through the experimentation of a comprehensive set of actions that leading to the definition and implementation of Strategies for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals in 7 European cities (Alimos, Cartagena, Ravenna, Linkoping, Dietzenbach, Riga, Lublin). In order to boost civil dialogue and initiate concrete partnerships in the target cities, EPI will gather together a variety of local authorities’ representatives, welfare institutions, experienced CSOs and grass root NGOs building a transnational network of partners and stakeholders seriously interested and committed to foster integration of TCNs. In the short and medium term, project beneficiaries will be mainly civil servants, TCNs involved in the project and non-state actors. In the long term, our beneficiaries will be other European cities, local communities, national and European public and private organizations. The Project will entail the following activities: 1) Assessment of cities’ performances in relation to the integration of TCNs through the implementation of an Intercultural Review in each city. The results of the Review will support cities in defining policy areas where integration of TCNs is more needed and lay the base for the codesign of tailored solutions. 2) Engagement of city stakeholders in a participatory policy design process aimed to identify and co-design solutions; 3) Definition of one City Integration Strategy in each city. 4) Pilot implementation of City Integration Strategies; 5) Upscaling project methods and outputs at European level with online (e.g. website, social media, videos) and offline tools (e.g. Reports, National conferences, Final European Conference). Specific actions will be taken to identify cities outside the consortium interested to replicate project methods and tools in their territories.
