European poetry: let’s expand our House ! The world of european litterature is bigger than we think and contemporary poetry can give european citizens the opportunity to discover these unknown cultural horizons. Our operation will build on the existing assets of our structure to promote the translation of contemporary European poetry, increase discoverability of works belonging to this confidential genre, allow a better circulation and the emergence of a new market for it in Europe. To achieve this, our house will create a unique bilingual collection of contemporary European poetry. The catalogue will grow over the years thanks to partnerships with translators across Europe and will be presented in numerous independent bookstores in France and in cultural events of our european partners in Finland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Georgia, Portugal. In a second phase, we will highlight authors of contemporary French poetry by allowing them to see their works translated, and strengthen our links with foreign translators and authors. STEP 1: - Prior exchange and collaborative work with selected foreign translators / authors. - Translation and editing of books into a bilingual collection. - Promotion in France (festivals, shows, writing residencies, literary prizes, schools). STEP2 : -Translation from recognized authors of contemporary French poetry into the translators' native languages and promotion in foreign countries. DURING ALL THE PROCESS : -The MDP and its foreign partners will support the promotion and dissemination of the collection in France and in the countries of the translators with experimented business and advertising networks. -They will take care to give priority to authors and works having as privileged themes in the expression of their art the defense of identities, less visible minorities and gender equality. -They will be attentive to the environmental impact of all project activities, including monitoring and offsetting carbon footprint.
