Description
Description | Portugal defined a model aiming the implementation of quality assurance systems (QAS) by VET providers, in alignment with the EQAVET framework. This alignment process is assessed by external experts appointed by the higher education institutions. When the QAS implemented by the VET providers meet the EQAVET alignment criteria, an EQAVET seal is awarded. The model was launched in a large scale in 2019. With the support of the European Social Fund, a large number of schools (secondary public and private schools with professional courses were able to implement it). By the end of May 2021, 500 schools are implementing the model and 409 of them have been awarded an EQAVET seal. The schools that so far were awarded the EQAVET seal are carrying on with their continuous improving work. A follow-up of their work is needed. The large number of schools covered by the model increases the relevance of an impact assessment. In this project it will be defined the technical specifications of the Study focused on the assessment impact of the alignment of VET providers with the EQAVET framework, as well the criteria for the tendering process. The study will be carried out during 2023-2026. Additionally, Portugal plans to develop a peer review as a host country. It will take place by July 2023. |
