Description
Description | European Social Partners in Education Promoting environmental sustainability in school learning, teaching and management The project is designed to continue the commitment of EFEE and ETUCE in promoting a green and resilient societal transition through school education in line with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda, the European Greed Deal, the European Climate Pact and the European Education Area. One of the most recent achievements of the European Social Partners in education in this regard represents their contribution to the design of the first prototype of the Education for Climate Coalition, a flagship initiative of the European Education Area. At its core, the project feeds into the ambitious current ESSDE Work Programme, in particular the implementation of the topic Education and Environment, by aiming to examine the following question: How can social partners in education can foster environmentally conscious and friendly school learning, teaching and management? To answer this question, twelve events are foreseen to be organized. These include seven Advisory Group meetings, four case study visits and one final conference. The quality, the time schedule and the objectives of the project will be secured by the establishment of a project Advisory Group, containing an equal share of 4 EFEE and 4 ETUCE members from Poland, Spain, Finland and Ireland. The four case study visits will be interactive 2 day visits of local schools, taking place in Ireland, Finland, Poland and Spain. These case study visits are devoted to assess the state of play of the integration of environmental sustainability in initial and continuous teacher education and training as well as school management. Furthermore, we will organise one larger dissemination conference in Brussels devoted to sharing the findings of the project on the possibilities of fostering environmentally friendly and conscious learning in European school system |
