Description | The TechGirls project (European TechGirls – Dialogues on Gender Equality and European digital future) has been designed with the aim of promoting structured dialogue and capacity building based on the needs regarding women and their access to labour market. The beneficiaries will be 50 women (25 of them travelling, so international participants) from two European towns with similar characteristics, both of which are cities in rural areas, but different approach to employment and gender: Pedreguer (Spain) and Kuldiga (Latvia). By conducting a common needs assessment, they are able to identify approaches, tools, skills and resources to promote civic participation in the European Union policy making process through the organisation of public debates and capacity building session in Spain and Latvia. As a result of 1 activity (transnational meeting), they are going to promote the incorporation of women to studies on science and technology in the areas above mentioned, their digital skills and the participatory debate on what kind of Europe the beneficiaries want. The debates will let citizens to understand the benefits of the European Union and to reinforce the EU's. Therefore, TechGirls will create a long-term network of Latvia and Spain women and local authorities in order to meet the following specific objectives: ● Sustainable cooperation between the two municipalities: Pedreguer and Kuldiga. ● To empower and train a number of women in both municipalities in technology-related issues. ● Develop networks of rural municipalities around Europe to make their cooperation more sustainable. ● To take further advantages and assure the sustainability of the project results to achieve the biggest possible impact. ● To go beyond TechGirls workshops and learning materials and raise the awareness of active citizenship. |
