Description

Description

The European Union - Fit for the Future project develops teaching methods that actively engage students in learning. This happens by developing students' communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills. Collaborative learning also promotes the student's sense of community, compassion, and character building. Active and skills-based methods also produce the best learning outcomes in learning content. (Micheal Fullan, New Pedagogies for Deep Learning). Challenge-based learning model in which students become acquainted with current challenges in the European Union further enhance their skills. The search for solutions raises interest in the work of the European Union and strengthens students' image of the Union's democratic processes. Students accustomed to active work habits will also participate in the school's community events, such as Europe Day. The project aims to change the school's operative culture by creating permanent practices in learning and for the involvement of students in the school's daily life. The methods produced by the project are scalable and adaptable in schools (ISCED 1-4). Teachers can adopt them and apply them in their teaching. The project involves teacher training, where teachers learn new methods and are empowered to use them. The methods encourage the collaboration of teachers from different subjects. The plans also apply to schools' international activities, such as eTwinning projects.
