"EUSSUA is based on the urgent need for raising awareness and boosting a high quality and attractive knowledge of the European Union (EU), with its principles and values, its institutions and policies, among Secondary School teachers and students, so that they get involved and participate in the EU integration process. The Project is thought as a package of teaching training activities of innovative nature, so that citizens get to know the European integration process, and it is aimed at creating a feeling of European citizenship. EUSSUA intends to foster European youngsters’ active participation in the European integration process through the delivery of adapted courses on this subject addressed to Secondary School, using Information and Communication Technologies. Its main goal is to support Secondary School in planning, organising and delivering EU content in their curricular and extra-curricular activities. This will be achieved through: 1. The creation of the Project website, which will compile and systematize the most important teaching materials on the EU and will host a virtual teaching platform. 2. Two editions of the Advanced Course for Secondary School teachers and postgraduate future teachers, titled “The EU: Organization and Functioning”, will be offered in each year of the Project’s duration, organized in ten sessions and as a massive online open course (MOOC). 3. Also, a Focus Groups with Stakeholders entitled “EU Studies in Secondary Education: Thematic Areas to be Covered” will be held every year. 4. In addition, each year, a series of Co-teaching Days on the EU will be promote at Secondary School centres, with the collaboration of the Secondary School teachers. 5. The publication of a manual devised for Secondary Education, entitled ""An Introduction to the EU: A Manual for Secondary Education"". In sum, EUSSUA will enable to attain the objective to promote excellence in teaching in the field of EU in a comprehensive and transversal manner."
