Description
Description | The EU Governance (EuGov) Project aims to significantly improve the quality of existing and new teaching, research and dissemination activities on issues related to EU governance and new policy priorities at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). It seeks to expand knowledge on EU affairs through education and research while fostering dialogue among students, academics and civil society. The project´s objectives include increasing EU governance awareness, delivering high-quality education, developing research to support EU policy-making and fostering dialogue and understanding on key EU priorities. EuGov aligns with Erasmus+ priorities by promoting inclusion, diversity and digitalization, incorporating IT tools and online/hybrid activities to broaden participation. The project also supports sustainability goals and the EU´s strategic priorities, including green transformation, democratic engagement and global security challenges. The Project´s activities include introducing new courses within the EU Studies degree (launching in 2026-2027), upgrading existing curricula, implementing innovative teaching methods and establishing new informal learning activities. The new research activities will contribute to EU policy-making and strengthen the academic environment at UPF, while a range of dissemination activities (such as EU Annual Lectures, Civil Society Debates, etc.) will engage a wider audience providing a deeper understanding and engagement of current EU governance decisions. Expected outcomes include the successful launch of the new EU Studies degree at UPF, increased EU awareness among students, the public and local policy-makers, conducting high-quality research on EU substantive topics with publications in leading journals and the strengthening of an academic and civil society network. Altogether, the project will nurture, inspire and consolidate a stimulating and vibrant academic environment at UPF with lasting impacts at the local, national and EU levels |
