Description
Description | In the fast-growing European VOD market, the growing complexity of technology and the domination of North-American platforms, which have set a demanding standard of quality, make it very difficult for local players to compete. VOD Factory’s project aims at lowering barriers to entry for European VOD players, making it possible to monetise and distribute their content with low investment and limited technical expertise. The main objectives of the 3-year project are: - to expand to more European territories, widening access to content monetisation tools and strategies for the European audiovisual industry players, and thus encourage the development and spread of innovative tools and business models, as well as the visibility, availability, audience and diversity of European works in the digital age. - to facilitate wholesale distribution strategies by offering integrated solutions in various closed ecosystems (including partnerships with ISPs and console ecosystems). - to increase the sustained availability of diverse content online by democratising access to cutting-edge distribution solutions at an affordable cost and thus develop a sound business model for online distribution of European content, thus improving the overall competitiveness of the European audiovisual industry. In order to achieve this, we will invest in the following innovative technological developments: 1) Offer a seamless multi-screen experience by developing new interfaces on the different operating systems used to access VOD services. 2) Integrate numerous billing systems and distribution enablers. 3) Maximise the compatibility of video encodings to optimize the quality of video formats and develop resource-efficient solutions. 4) Invest in cutting-edge features to offer content recommendation and content pushing AI solutions. 5) Develop additional solutions for transparency and simplicity of Royalty Management for content owners. |
