European Week of Sport - National Activities Dialogue with Stakeholders

The Action Plan has been drafted to address the objectives of the 2021 EWoS at national level given the situation as has aroused by the covid19 pandemic. It seeks to further develop and maintain a national platform of sporting and physical activities mainly focus to the support of the physical and sport sector emphasising to the post-pandemic recovery, to raise awareness and promote the benefits of sport and physical activity and healthy lifestyle by utilizing and allocating all available means and resources (i.e.multipliers network, events, social media, communication, dissemination tools and human resources). The 2021 edition anticipates the organization of national (i.e Olympic Day, School Sports Day, etc.) and local (i.e. sport villages) initiatives, as well as the organization of new and the promotion of existing sport and physical activities and programmes that will give new opportunities to the population to be informed about various physical activity opportunities. Free of charge and accessible events will mobilise citizens to get physically active. The action plan aims at enhancing the multipliers network and capitalise its experience, means and capacity and have on board as many stakeholders as possible that could play an active role in the promotion of sport and physical activity on local and national level. All parties involved will promote the messages of EWoS throughout the year by utilising all the available communication tools provided by the EC and developed by the NCB on national and local level. The plan also foresees to strengthen EU cooperation and exchange of knowledge among NCB’s and the EC. Overall, the proposal is aiming to have a long-term impact in raising awareness on the value of sport and physical activity, active participation and wellbeing on local, national and EU level and to initiate and develop new structures, methods and tools to support the implementation of the EU and national policies in the field of sport and health.
