European Week of Sport Proposal from Sweden 2021 As previous years we will use our 19 local district organisations to make sure the European Week of Sport is spread in all of Sweden in as many places as possible. All 19 of them will be engaged and arrange several Sport Villages / Sport days in their region. The Day of Sport offers a verity of physical activities for the visitors to try out. The come-and-try activities are presented in cooperation with local sport clubs. The clubs are selected and well-prepared. We arrange this year EWoS-events in joint venture with our big and government funded project “Movement in School” that gives us access to local coordinators with great contacts with all local schools. Movement in School is a national project for more sport, exercise and understanding of physical literacy. It was started to improve public health, well-being and academic results. Primarily target group for the events are children 6-12 years, especially children who are not physical active. To make sure we meet those children we will arrange our events in Schools in those areas that have the greatest needs. We want to show all the alternatives and variation offered by Swedish Sport Clubs to motivate more to lifelong participation, including Sports for all! The Day of Sport is an important platform for us to make sure we give attention to our important messages to the participants, but also in national and local media. We will focus on arranging school events during the European School Sport day, Friday the 24th. We are aiming on 500 School events and 60 000 participants. All districts will choose one school and make that event the flagship event in their region, to invite media, politicians, etc. We will also be open for planning some public events if the pandemic situation is allowing that. Our focus themes are primarily Education, Sport clubs and Outdoors.
