Description
Description | The European Youth Parliament (EYP) empowers young people aged between 16 and 28 to become active citizens, shape democratic processes, and contribute to European societal challenges. With a network of 33 National Committees and a volunteer-driven structure, EYP engages over 20 000 participants annually through a range of activities aimed at promoting youth participation, democratic values, and intercultural understanding. During the 2026–2027 period, EYP will continue to provide inclusive spaces for youth to engage in European decision-making processes, focusing on key EU priorities, including social inclusion, climate action, and digital transformation. Through over 200 events annually, such as International Sessions, National Selection Conferences, training events, policy discussions and thematic workshops, EYP brings together young Europeans from diverse backgrounds to debate critical issues and propose youth-driven solutions. We focus on ensuring that underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ+ youth, racial minorities, and young people from rural and disadvantaged areas, have the opportunity to engage and be heard in the European democratic dialogue. EYP’s work contributes directly to the EU Youth Strategy, the European Democracy Action Plan, and the Erasmus+ programme by providing youth-led platforms for dialogue, decision-making, and empowerment. EYP’s communication strategy and campaigns supports the visibility of EU programmes for young people and raises awareness of EU policies through diverse channels, including social media and the EYP Members Platform. With over 27 000 registered users, this platform serves as the hub for managing volunteer participation, offering a learning space for resources, and promoting over 450 social media posts annually, highlighting youth engagement and key projects. EYP’s reach extends through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, where we engage a wide audience, including young activists, decision-makers, and alumni. |
