Europe's First Tritium Removal Facility at Cernavodă

Construction of the first detritiation facility in Europe began at the Cernavodă nuclear power plant. The facility targets tritium from heavy water used in reactor cooling and moderation systems, allowing reuse of heavy water and safe storage of recovered tritium for future fusion reactors. The project is fundamental for reducing environmental impact and increasing operational efficiency of the plant.
