Description

Description

EUROPEUM’s 2025 project marks the last of our 4-year Framework strategy, taking place within the new EU institutional cycle and the year of the crucial Czech parliamentary elections. At the time the EU faces various challenges, and citizens are getting to a potential decisive point on whether to go on a European or populist path, while Czechia remains one of the most Eurosceptic countries. This landmark Czech year occurs as Europe enters a new era driven by the twin transformations, mandating ambitious and action-oriented policymaking rooted in evidence-based research. Thus, our project aims to further develop our dual approach to engagement. First, to forge links between decision-makers, academia and scientists to pursue transparent, evidence-based policymaking rooted in action-oriented research. Second, to engage and empower citizens through providing platforms for them to actively interact with elite stakeholders and participate in democratic dialogue on European issues. Through public and private activities bridging decision-makers, academia, scientists and citizens, we seek to address various challenges, strengthen European integration, and foster societal cohesion around Union values. Our project synthesises inputs from our target groups gathered through national and international activities addressing problems at both national and European levels with the aim of offering holistic, interdisciplinary and actionable solutions. We aim to achieve this through independent research, public events enabling citizens’ participation in the democratic dialogue, private events and advocacy bringing together decision-makers, academia and scientists, and educational activities raising awareness of the EU agenda. Our Brussels Office and intensive cooperation with various partners across Europe will enable us to continue bringing Czech visions for Europe and European visions for the Czech Republic.
