"The ""BÜRGER"" project represents an innovative initiative that aims to strengthen cThe ""BÜRGER"" project is an innovative initiative that aims to promote exchange between citizens from different countries, to strengthen citizen participation in Europe and to do so in relation to the key challenges that Europe is currently facing: democracy, migration, Gender equality and European identity. By establishing citizens' assemblies in five European cities, a platform will be created on which citizens from different social, cultural and demographic contexts can discuss current challenges together and develop collective perspectives for the future. These citizens' assemblies act as forums for participatory discussions and working groups in which citizens are actively involved in formulating solutions for the above-mentioned topic areas. The methodological approach is based on a bottom-up approach that aims to directly incorporate citizens' voices and ideas into political decision-making processes. Citizens' assemblies regularly hold topic-related discussions and organize citizen surveys to capture the opinions and perspectives of a broad population base. The results of these discussions and surveys are consolidated in international meetings in which political decision-makers also take part. In this context, the findings are presented, discussed and summarized in the form of position papers, which are intended to serve as a basis for political measures and strategies. The ""BÜRGER"" project contributes to promoting democracy, gender equality and inclusion in Europe and significantly supports important EU initiatives such as the European Action Plan for Democracy, the Strategy for LGBTIQ Equality and the EU Action Plans to Combat Racism and for European citizenship. By creating an inclusive and participatory political discourse, the project makes an important contribution to strengthening democratic governance in Europe and realizing the overarching goals of the European Union."
