"Lithuania is 20 years in the EU. This period allowed the country to participate in decision-making processes, receive financial support and share common intercultural values with other EU countries. However, after conducting a survey of 5-8th grade students in Šiauliai ""Romuva"" progymnasium in the retrospective of Lithuania's presence in the EU, the majority of students do not have a clear idea of how the institution of the EU works. How it directly affects their daily life, responds to their current and future needs, sustainability in the contexts of cultural diversity, freedom, democracy, economy and digital literacy. It is necessary to educate students about the EU, the impact of its positive initiatives on society not only here and now, but also in the future. The method of the project ""The European Union is active me, you and all of us together in the EU"" is synergistic interdisciplinary integration in education about the EU and based on a digital, interactive teaching environment. Teaching about the EU in progymnasium will be officially included into the curriculum in the subjects of history, geography, civic education, natural science, mathematics (economics), English, German and French. The results of learning about the EU will improve because the knowledge about EU history, development, rights and responsibilities, institutions and their functions, cultural diversity, economy and development of the Eurozone, EU projects and their benefits, EU environmental protection, linguistic diversity, customs, traditions and the future vision of the EU will be deepened. The gained critical thinking, civic self-awareness, encourage them to cooperate and become more active in the democratic process. The result of the project is a methodical e-publication in Lithuanian, English, German and French, based on a multimedia concept, which will include a combination of text, audio, video and digital, interactive content, accessible to the entire European audience and beyond."
