Meeting of the twin settlements of Gyöngyös. The first joint meeting after the covid lockdown. Our twinning relations will be expanded: a new partner agreement will be concluded between Gyöngyös and Lendava, and start preparing a potential twinning agreement with Lucenec. The main topics of the meeting will be: exchange of views on the future of Europe and the situation in Central and Eastern Europe in the Union. We will organize programs around different issues for every day: - the situation of young people in Europe, the vision of Eastern Europe: studying and working in Europe, - electoral systems, - current affairs: populism, illiberalism, nationalism, migration, EU scepticism, covid, Brexit and its effects, - renewable energies, environmental protection, - common opportunities in tourism, agriculture, winery. There will also be daily excursions in the area. The leaders, specialists and representatives of the non-governmental organizations of the partner settlements will meet. We will introduce them to the local government associations, their activities and results. We present their outstanding international good practices. By the end of the meeting, the common points of opportunities and endowments will be assessed through project development and communication trainings, NGO roundtable discussions and events for the population. From these, a common project collection is created together, in which the joint, medium-term development plans of the settlements and organizations are formulated. This will lay foundation to the strategy of the common cooperation, which will have been completed by the end of the project. We’d like to inform the local people about the results of the international cooperation and programs. Our aim is to involve, activate and inform the widest possible target groups and as many voluntary citizens as possible. Apart from the strengthening of the formal relations between the organizations, we also intend to give priority to personal, family or even friendly relations among the inhabitants of the towns. We would invite to this meeting not only our associated partners: Lucenec and Lendava, but our cities twin cities too.
