Description

Description

The project involves a GBP360 million (US$480.6 million), five-year design and engineering contract for the redevelopment of Euston station and its surrounding mixed-use district as part of the HS2 programme. Key components include upgrading the existing mainline station, enhancing the London Underground interchange, and improving bus and taxi facilities. The project also encompasses the development of a residential and commercial district, potentially featuring a life sciences cluster tied to the King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter. The appointed team, working with the Euston Delivery Company (EDC), Lendlease, and Allies & Morrison, will handle scheme design, large-scale transport engineering, architectural masterplanning, programme planning, cost control, strategic planning, and delivery oversight. The role demands expertise in complex, multi-modal transport infrastructure and translating early-stage designs into feasible, cost-effective solutions. Notably, the project excludes the HS2 Euston terminus, which is being developed separately through private financing and was paused in 2023 due to cost issues, with tunnel work set to resume in 2026.
