The European Youth Dialogue (EYD) project in Lithuania aims to strengthen connections between young people and decision-makers, fostering an open platform for dialogue. Many young people in Lithuania feel disconnected from political and decision-making processes, as evidenced by low voter turnout and civic engagement, particularly among rural youth and marginalized communities. This project addresses these issues by fostering meaningful youth participation, creating accessible platforms, and bridging the gap between young people and policymakers. Led by the Lithuanian National Working Group and key partners, the initiative focuses on three core objectives: increasing youth participation in decision-making processes, ensuring inclusivity and representation of underrepresented groups, and fostering direct dialogue between youth and policymakers to co-create actionable policy recommendations. Through the European Youth Dialogue Ambassadors initiative, the project builds a network of trained young leaders who act as bridges between their peers and decision-makers, ensuring broad outreach. The project enables youth to engage directly with policymakers through various participatory activities, ensuring their voices contribute to shaping national and European policies. By empowering young people and enhancing their involvement in democratic processes, the EYD promotes a more inclusive and responsive governance.
