Description

Description

ECO - Evaluando Campañas contra el Odio will focus on the great need to transform hate narratives within the digital ecosystem and to change the widespread negative perception of Muslim communities in Spain. The project will mainly center on young people as main users of the social media networks. ECO will increase the knowledge of this phenomenon following a triangular, integrated and multidisciplinary approach. The consortium members have been selected for having the social, academic and institutional skills necessary to carry out the project efficiently and accurately. Partners have worked together in previous projects or collaborated in actions or platforms with similar aims which will make cooperation easier and smoother. ECO will create the first “Map of conceptual frames on xenophobia and racism towards Muslim population”. This map and further analysis will put this kind of hate in context in a variety of forms: conceptual (imaginary, language), social (aporophobia) and historical (diachronically and current). The academic work will lead into the “Assessment methodology for campaigns” that will help to assess campaigns and create new raising awareness actions for CSOs and stakeholders. Three new campaigns will be created to reach a total of 585 persons face to face and 1.730.000 interactions online. The network created by ECO will strength the capacity for advocacy and national cooperation between key actors to face AMH. We believe in the importance of emphasize the gender perspective since a great amount of the online hate narrative is directed towards Muslim women. The European dimension is present in several workshops inviting European experts in order to get a testing methodology as efficient as possible and to adjust it in order to be used in a wider context (other European countries). The final deliverable will be an online guide that will be open access. A ToT will be organize in order to explain CSOs members to use the guide.
