Description | This project involves widening Evans Street and Old Tar Road in Greenville. It includes construction of a 4.4-mile median-divided highway with sidewalks and 5-foot bicycle lanes on each side. The project will feature signalized intersections, realignment of Vernon White intersection, and elimination of left turns at certain intersections using signalized U-turn bulbs to reduce congestion. Right-of-way acquisition started in spring 2022 and is about 90% complete. Six homes have been demolished and six businesses relocated so far. |
