Description | EVelution Energy is developing America's first commercial-scale, solar-powered cobalt metal and cobalt sulfate processing facility in Yuma County, Arizona. The $450 million project aims to establish secure domestic refining capacity for critical minerals, supporting U.S. defense readiness, domestic manufacturing, and supply-chain resilience. The facility is designed with sustainable features including on-site solar generation, battery storage, closed-loop water management, and no on-site tailings storage. Construction of the cobalt processing facility is expected to start in early 2027 and complete by the end of 2029. |
