Description

Description

The project involves constructing a new inflow pump station at the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir, which is a key part of Florida's Everglades restoration effort. The EAA Reservoir will hold over 78 billion gallons of water and deliver up to 470 billion gallons of clean water annually to the Everglades and Florida Bay, supporting the Biscayne Aquifer, South Florida's main drinking water source. The pump station will have nine pumps capable of moving about 3 billion gallons of water per day from Lake Okeechobee into the reservoir. The project aims to restore natural water flow, reduce harmful discharges to estuaries, and improve ecosystems across South Florida.
